Synopsis
In a not-too-distant future, North America has collapsed, weakened by drought, fire, famine, and war to be replaced by Panem, a country divided into the Capitol and 12 districts
Each year two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games. Part entertainment, part brutal intimidations of the subjugated districts, the televised games are broadcast throughout Panem.
The 24 participants are forced to eliminate their competitors, literally, with all citizens required to watch. When 16-year-old Katniss’ young sister, Prim, is selected as the mining district’s female representative, Katniss volunteers to take her place.
She and her male counterpart Peeta, will be pitted against bigger, stronger representatives who have trained for this their whole lives.
N now, this is what i have to said about the hunger games
It all started with an introduction. About how a nation is break apart due to the uprising in each district. And to stop the uprising, the capital divided into several district and introduced a game, The Hunger Games.
Each district will have 2 representative for the games. And this year, most of them are volunteers.
This includes District 12 where initially, it was choosen by the district councils that Katniss sister as the contestant. But to save her, Katniss volunteer herself as the replacement. With Peeta, they both take on the challenge and goes trough several training.
Katniss, a skill bow user and Peeta a user with enormous strength. Both of them were brought into the capital and train by 1 of the winner Haynemitch to strengthening their skills and sharpen their wits as most of the contestants on the higher districts are very tough.
With the help of a fashion designer, a design that attracts many sponsors and audience with the catching fire dress wear by both of them. And with the help of MockingJay badge, the luck is on their side.
Training by training they sharpen their skills and it is the day of the games. Haynemitch advice Katniss not to take the bow first as it would bring much disaster. And it proves right as the games begin, 1 by 1 were slaughtered by the higher districts.
Peeta join forces with all the higher districts to eliminate Katniss. But with her skills of hunting and evading, and with the help of Rue, she able to take down an engineered bee's by the organisers. With the help of Rue, Katniss managed to survived and together, they tried to take down the higher districts contestants.
By blowing their supply chain, Katniss and Rue managed to reduce the power on the other side by aiming on the apple to blow up the trap mines. But things doesn't turn out well. Rue was kill as she saved by Katniss after being trapped in a net.
The rules started to changed to make the games more interesting as both Katniss and Peeta were once someone who loved each other. And in the end, they tried to kill themselves both after the organisers changed the rules again.
But in the end, Organisers announced, District 12 the winner
So what happen to them next??? Do watch this movie. As i heard it was a twitter trending but for me, it was just a ok movie to watch rather than the Twilight Saga movie.
